Learning & Teaching in Our School
WITH MRS KRYSTAL BRADY
KINDERGARTEN 2022 ORIENTATION
Today was our Kindergarten Orientation! It was so exciting to have our 2022 Kindergarten classes at school getting to know their teachers. Students enjoyed story time, making taco dragons and playing with their new friends. We are looking forward to seeing them for their first day of school on Tuesday, 8th February, 2022.
Thank you to Mrs Nicole Edwards for coordinating our Transition Program for 2021.Please continue to contact Mrs Edwards through Class Dojo for any further information.
Prior to the first day of Kindergarten, you will need to book your child's Best Start interview. These interviews are a relaxed opportunity to develop a relationship with your child and to identify their current literacy and numeracy skills. Appointments will be available from Tuesday 1st February to Monday 7th February. These interviews will be held at school for one hour and drop off and pick up will be at the hall gate.
To book your child's Best Start Interview go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and use event code r4jev
2021 PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE
The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. Congratulations to Amailia Brandt in Year One for successfully completing the Premier's Reading Challenge this year.
LEARNING IN YEAR 4
Year 4 students have been looking at local industries and what they produce. Students chose an industry and researched the production process of a product. They then used their newly acquired digital coding knowledge to record the steps of production and create an interactive poster using the Makey Makeys.
SEMESTER TWO REPORTING
Reports for Semester Two learning will be distributed on Friday, 10th December (Kinder to Year 5). Students have been working hard towards their learning goals this semester. Due to COVID-19 interruptions, the report will look different (similar to Semester One, 2020). A detailed comment will be provided for both English and Mathematics which describes your child’s progress in these specific Key Learning Areas. A General Comment and Engagement in Learning indicators are also included in the report. Please contact your class teacher if you have any questions about your child’s report.
